Mrs Rita Dalby

Rita Dalby

Dear Dr Carrie

I came to you at the beginning of March 2010 when I was unable to walk more than a few steps without having severe pain in my lower back which was also coupled with depression caused by the realization that my morale was very low.

With the expert treatment and advice that I was given the pain lessened to such a degree that I was almost immediately able to continue my life as before. The atmosphere of the Back Care Centre and its staff, with their caring, honest and friendly approach, has made life worth living.

Although I continue to have treatment on a much less regular basis, I am extremely grateful for the time Dr Carrie has spent with me.

Once again, many, many thanks to Dr Carrie.

Mrs Rita Dalby

Dear Dr Carrie

I think saying thank you is an understatement; however, I would like to express how grateful I am for the treatment you have given to me and my family.

My mum first came to the Back Care Centre suffering with a back problem and severe arthritis, where she had difficulty sitting/standing and doing day to day tasks. She came to see you and her health and posture has improved vastly. We recently went on holiday and throughout the whole trip she did not complain once about any pains or feeling tired, which is down to you. After seeing the good you did with my mum, I took up treatment with you. I suffer from a curvature of the spine and used to get really bad aches and pains and had difficulty when getting up from a chair. After seeking treatment I can feel my spine and posture improve, I have also had other people notice this of me and commented on.

With the way you have impressed, we now give recognition and recommendation to anyone we come across with similar problems, so a very BIG thank you to you!

Yours sincerely

I had suffered from polymyalgia (muscle and spinal problems) several years ago. Recently a potassium deficiency linked to high blood pressure which caused inflammation of the muscles and joints. I would experience pain first thing in the morning in my neck and lower back. I was prescribed anti-inflammatory tablets and painkillers for short periods of time however felt that my problem was reoccurring. This made carrying out my role as a nursery teacher difficult.

However I was also aware that I needed to change some of my habits as this was aggravating the pain. At this point I thought I would try chiropractic treatment. I started having treatment at the back clinic in February.

The initial assessment was very thorough, the x-rays and treatment were clearly explained and I had the opportunity to ask questions. At first I attended the clinic three times a week.

I am now attending once a month. I was committed to carrying out the exercises several times a day.

I quickly saw the benefits of my treatment, less pain, more movement and positive attitude. Throughout my treatment I found Jeff (Chiropractor), Phil (Massage Therapist) and reception staff friendly, efficient and committed to their work.

I have been pleased with the treatment I have received, have and will continue to recommend chiropractic to family, friends and colleagues.

Dear Carrie Ann

One wouldn't normally equate motorcycling with a sedentary desk job, but it is easily done. I've been riding a bike approximately 10 hours a day since January 1991 except for weekends and time off due to accident, injury or breakdown.

Before biking my back was strained to the point of shoulder ligaments being torn while installing a roof. I was ignorant to the fact that it had certainly affected my spinal vertebrae. Had I known the benefits of chiropractic at the time, I would have been able to keep my back in perfect condition.

As it is, and due to my not realizing the benefits of chiropractic earlier, I literally awaited the day my back give out. A sharp searing pain hit my lower back on 16 July 2006, a few months before my 60th birthday, as I leaned over quickly to pull out something from under the bed.

Knowing to by-pass the local the local doctor (who would but prescribe painkillers while my back would continue to deteriorate to the point of no-return).I headed straight to the FBCC the next day, fearing that my working life had come to an end.

Well, it would have, had I not taken the treatment offered (along with the orthotics) after consultation and X-rays, during which I learned much concerning the nervous system & was refreshed on other points that I'd learned over the years but had forgotten.

Had I had chiropractic treatment 20 years ago, my back would be as good as it was then. Now, however, regular adjustments and twice-daily exercises (without fail) are necessary to keep my back from regressing to its former state of last year.

The Wednesday evening class is necessary for further knowledge of the nervous system and for instruction in sitting and sleeping position and in the twice-daily exercises-indispensable for restorative and remedial achievement.

I urge any reader to try chiropractic for any of the disorders listed on the front door, Concerning the cost of treatments, the words came to me, "No back, no work." Simple. For my neighbor who saw the benefits of the "after, "one series of adjustment cleared up the problem which he'd had for the last ten years.

My only regret is that I'd not come here years ago.

Hour and half years ago I was involved in a car accident and suffered a whip lash injury. I was offered physiotherapy through my insurance and had nine months of treatment.

On completing the treatment my neck and shoulder have still given pain and discomfort and this has increased during the last few years gradually becoming worse. I was suffering from regular headaches and back ache and constant pain around my shoulder blade. Finally, I woke up one morning and turned over and felt a sharp pain down my back. I could hardly move and although I did manage to get up, it was difficult to walk.

I spoke to a friend who recommended trying a chiropractor. I found the telephone number of the Finchley Back Care Centre and had my first appointment with Jeff. I was quite sceptical of any form of treatment but at that time was just desperate to have some pain relief. I was given a very thorough examination and x-rays of various angles of my neck and spine. I was very pleased with the care I was given and was impressed with the detail of the consultation. However, my scepticism increased when I was told that, to begin with, I would need three treatments per week each lasting about 10 minutes and costing "29 each! Friends warned me that I was being ripped off but I decided that I would try a month of treatment and then review my situation. My husband and I attended the evening training session which was very informative and useful and I was happy to learn that the complete well being of patient was being recognised.

I began my treatment determined that I would keep an open mind and commit myself to my part of the partnership by regularly doing my exercises.

The benefits were not immediate but slowly I began to find that my neck and shoulders were less painful and my headaches were far less regular. I saved a fortune on ibuprofen! At the end of the month I cut down to two treatments a week and then one.

Six months later, and I am now attending once every six weeks and although I know I can make an extra appointment at any time I have not needed to. The added benefit which I had not anticipated was that I also feel less tired and generally have more energy.

Jeff has been very professional but also warm and friendly throughout my treatments and has always made me feel relaxed. He has also always explained carefully the exact treatment he is giving me and reasons why a specific treatment is necessary.

I addition to this the staff at the clinic have been very welcoming and helpful and the receptionist staff are definitely an asset to the clinic's success.

I would like to thank everyone at the clinic for all the care I have received and it is now my turn to recommend chiropractor treatment to my friends!

Piers Small (Child)

At first when I started coming to the chiropractor I had a slight problem with my back and neck. Soon after I was examined by Dr Jeff and X-Rays were taken, the results showed that I have a scoliosis and that he would have to adjust my back to solve the problem.

Dr Jeff said that he would have to adjust my back to prevent the joints from getting any closer. Then after he done that, he had shown me some exercises that I would have to do. He told me I would have to come back a few more times to keep doing what he does to me. When I left I said to my Nan that I felt taller and I stood more upright and not sloped.

I should like to express my thanks to Dr Jeff & staff at the Finchley Back Care Centre for all that they have done to enable me to enjoy life more.

Before I came to the clinic I was having great difficulty walking. I was also experiencing a lot of pain in my back and left leg. That has now disappeared and whilst at my age, I do not expect to be able to walk great distance. I can now walk without pain and much further.

Everyone at the clinic is so helpful and welcoming and I also thank them. Thank you all very much.

Dear Dr. Carrie

I came to you at the beginning of March 2005 when I was unable to walk more than a few steps without having severe pain in my lower back which was also coupled with depression caused by the realisation that my lifestyle was acutely restricted.

With the expert treatment and advice that I was given the pain lessened to such a degree that I was almost immediately, able to continue my life as it had been beforehand. Not only this, but the entire ethos and atmosphere of the Back Care Centre and its staff, with their caring, honest and friendly approach, has made life worth living once again.

Although I continue to have treatment on a much less regular basis, I am extremely grateful for the new lease of life that I have been given, and even if I had no back problem at all I would still look forward to visiting the Centre for the consistent warmth of the welcoming attitude that I am given.

Yours sincerely

Ms Sally Strachan

I have been a chiropractic patient for approximately 15 years now, and I can honestly say that it has changed my life!

After suffering a back injury, falling off a horse about 10 years ago prior to that, I had suffered from constant low grade pain, with extreme interludes, when I "put my back out" every 6 months or so. Doctors insisted it was "just muscle damage" and prescribed muscle relaxants, pain killers and bed rest.

When, in desperation, I first visited a chiropractor, 10 years after the original accident, I was x-rayed for the first time and, for the first time the problem was properly diagnosed. As soon as my back was re-aligned, I felt significant improvement and, to this day, regular care has kept me largely pain free.

I have been under Carrie's care for about 3 years now and I can honestly say that I consider her a genius – or would “magician” be closer to it? I see her once a month and not only have I been impressed by the treatments, but also by her genuine interest in me and my back, and by her regular and conscientious review of my case.

The staffs at the centre are always friendly and super helpful.

Thank you, everyone!!
